Growing up surrounded by hazelnut culture, I developed a deep appreciation for their flavor early on. The rich, roasted aroma. The natural sweetness. The way a simple spread could feel comforting, indulgent, and familiar all at once. Those flavors stayed with me.
Years later, living in the U.S., I kept reaching for chocolate hazelnut spreads hoping to relive that experience — and kept coming up disappointed. Too sweet. Too oily. Too many ingredients that didn’t belong there. The hazelnuts, somehow, were always an afterthought.
